چکیده	Ethylene bis (N-methyl imidazolium) ditribromide (EBMIDTB) is an efficient and selective reagent for the oxidation of thiols to their corresponding symmetrical disulfides and sulfides to sulfoxides under mild reaction conditions in good to excellent yields. Selective oxidation of thiols in the presence of sulfides at room temperature is also achieved with this reagent.
