The court poetic culture in Iran reached its highest development in the 11th century. during the reign of the first Ghaznavids. In the sphere of state policy, the Samanid guidelines were revised, and the national ideal was replaced by a religious one. Hence the general attitude of the official poets, first of all Unsuri, to oppose the concept of the shah's legitimacy, which was presented by Ferdowsi.
