Dextran ultra-fne nanofber mats with uniform morphological appearance were fabricated using
the electrospinning process. Increasing the solution concentration from 0.5 g.mL−1 to 0.9 g.mL−1
changed the fber structure from coarse-beaded to a uniform beadless nanofber mats. Additionally,
reducing the feed rate from 1 mL.h−1 to 0.25 mL.h−1 with increasing the spinning distance from 150
to 170 mm generally led to a decrease in the diameters of the fbers. At the end; uniform dextran
nanofbers with diameters ≈227 nm fabricated by the systematic modifcation of the electrospinning process. Crosslinked dextran nanofber mats represent promising candidates for biomedical
and tissue engineering.
