Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between students' intellectual personality and academic procrastination. Methods: The study design was descriptive of a correctional type. The statistical population of the study consisted of all students of Mazandaran University in the academic year of 2017. The research sample consisted of 80 undergraduate and postgraduate students of Mazandaran University selected from among all university students selected by cluster sampling. The students' intellectual personality questionnaire and academic proclamation questionnaire were used to collect data. Results: The results of correlation coefficient showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between passive intellectual personality and students 'academic procrastination and there is a negative and significant relationship between the flexible and authoritative intellectual personality and students' academic procrastination (p<0.01). Conclusion: The personality of each person is a general pattern that depicts the way of expressing feelings and experiences within the human mind and reflecting the way people think and behave in different conditions, with clues of mental, personality and style abilities. Confronts individuals in the face of different living conditions, thus, by procrastination defined as selfcontrol deficiencies and as the inability to control thoughts, emotions, impulses, and tasks performed according to the criteria chosen by the individual, has direct connection.
