Abstract Abstract. In this work, the numerical solution of a time fractional inverse problem (TFIP) on a finite slab is investigated. Since this inverse problem is ill-posed, we use a marching method combined with a generalized mollification regularization to solve the TFIP. The generalized cross validation choice rule is applied to find a suitable regularization parameter. Finally, the proposed method will be tested on an example.
