Abstract The different places in built environment provide a reasonable distance to cover and achieve social interactions among individuals. Although there have been many studies discussed about the various factors that are effective in the process of executing social interactions among residents in different built environment, there is no comprehensive study that classified environmental various in creating social interaction among individuals in built environment. Findings demonstrated that several environmental factors and the sources of environmental information (e.g. air quality, artifact and decoration, seating facility, size of place and spaciousness, noise pollution, green spaces and indoor plant, materials and color, cleanliness, sense of safety, privacy, lighting, proximity to functional location and residential block) affect the process of executing social interactions among people in different places of built environments
