For many years the natural polymers due to their unique physical and chemical properties as well as biocompatibility are used for development of high performance hydrogels [1]. In the last two decades, due to the similarities between the hydrogels and tissues of the body, drug delivery systems scaffolds based on natural polymer hydrogels was given special attention [2]. In this regard, combination of natural polymers and synthetic hydrogels have applied for control releases of drugs. Therefore, in this study, novel biocompatible nanohydrogels as a molecularly imprinted system have been prepared in which the crosslinked nanogel of sodium alginate grafted acrylicacid-co-vinylpyrrolidone acts as a matrix bearing levodopa in the designed framework. The structure and morphology of the synthesized materials have been explored using FT-IR, XRD, TGA, DSC, and FESEM. Swelling behavior studies at pH 4, 7.4 and 9 indicate that the synthesized nanogel has pH-responsivity. Levodopa(LD) adsorbing and releasing capability of the nanogel were investigated under optimized conditions
