The main aim of the present study is the electrodeposition of Zn-Al LDH on the surface of the conductive graphite pencil substrate. The electrochemically prepared Zn-Al LDH will then be modified by an organic compound (such as ibuprofen). The prepared sorbent will be characterized through SEM, FT-IR, EDX and XRD. The modified LDH fiber will be used as an extracting device for solid phase microextraction of some selected nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and naproxen. The extracted analytes were then quantified by high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV). In addition, different parameters which have effect on the SPME method will also be optimized through experimental design approach. Finally, the proposed method will be used for the extraction and determination of the analytes from urine samples.
