چکیده
|
This study aims to clarify the post-colonial theory, when it appeared with reference to the concepts that relates to just like colonialism, imperialism, racism and other related notions. The study also tries to establish and demonstrate Conrad's Heart of Darkness as a postcolonial work of literature. As far as we know, this novel explains Marlow's travels around the African continent and his search for the European Kurtz, who takes advantage of the natives by exploiting them with things like force and cruelty. This item is based on Conrad's personal experience in the Congo, where he witnessed how Europeans traded and exploited the natives for their own needs and wants throughout his stay in Africa. The novel is viewed as a critique of imperialism and colonialism and condemns the immoral and unethical treatment of Africans by European invaders in the 19th century.
