Abstract

Heavy metals are one of the most resistant pollutants in aquatic environments that have difficult decomposition and accumulate in the food chains. One of the best methods to remove these metals from aquatic environment is to use microorganisms like bacteria. In this study, a number of native halophilic bacteria were isolated by sampling from Miankaleh wetland's water and sediment. Isolated bacteria were identified by Gram staining and biochemical tests. Bacterial growth was checked in different concentration of Ni (30, 50, 80, 100, 300 and 500 mg). The results have shown that all bacteria had good growth in the mediums with different concentrations of Ni. Finally, one of the well-grown bacteria in the high concentration of Ni was selected for kinetic testing.
