Nanoparticles are widely used in pharmaceutical research and industry, particularly as an effective drug delivery system. Chitosan and alginate are two accessible nano drug vehicles with some useful biological properties. So, the study aimed to synthesize thioled chitosan-alginate nanoparticles. According to the thiolation method, the nanoparticle was synthesized and then analyzed by FT-IR method. The results demonstrated that the highest peak of chitosan-alginate nanoparticles was at the 3438.56 cm-1 and 1250 and 1590 cm-1 bands belong to thiol functional group. These thioled nanoparticles can be used as drug vehicles in the drug delivery systems, because they are biocompatible, non-toxic, biodegradable, affordable and accessible.
