Abstract

Politics provides a platform for dialogue. Basically, dialogue is the core of politics and with no dialogue there will be no politics. This shows the importance of politics and politicians in restricting violence and terror in our multicultural world. World War I neither started in Caucuses nor finished there, but it has changed the region forever. Having rich oil resources as well as an important port made Baku one of the focal points of the war. All the fighting powers tried to capture Baku and use this important city against their enemies. So by changing the balance of power in the war, Baku experienced different situations. The Christians, especially Armenians were backed by Russia and the Muslim Azeris were supported by Ottoman empire. Mohammad Sa'ed Maraghei was Iran's Consul general at that time and according to his own detailed diaries has played a very important role in the events
