Abstract

Molecules containing the 2,4-thiazolidinedione and rhodanine rings show a wide range of pharmacological activities including anti-microbial, anti-convulsant, anti-bacterial, anti- viral, anti-diabetic and anti-convulsant effects. Furthermore, rhodanine-based compounds are useful as small molecular inhibitors of numerous targets such as HCV NS3 protease, aldose reductase, b-lactamase, UDP-N-acetyl-muramate/L-alanine ligase, anti-diabetic agents, cathepsin D, and histidinede-carboxylase
