چکیده

National documents of Iran higher education are those which are approved by the highest legislative references of the Islamic Republic of Iran and have legal aspects. However, supporting documents underlie their substantiation. These documents are the axis of long-term, middle-term and short-term planning of Iran higher education system. Owing to the significance of cultural agility as a merit in higher educational system of Iran which can lead to extension of international academic exchanges and making universities international, present paper studied the position of this merit in national and supporting documents of Iran higher education system. This study covers 15 national and supporting documents of Iran higher education system. Method of research is the analysis of the content with a quantitative approach. Here, unit of context is page and unit of record is content. Sampling of national documents and content of documents are performed using purposeful and census methods, respectively. To validate the process of coding, second coder is used and 75% agreement was achieved. Results showed that attention to components of cultural agility in national and supporting documents is not the same. Moreover, results revealed that document of “Islamic university” paid most of the attention to cultural agility and document “constitution of appendage of important and major plans of the country” paid least attention to it. Furthermore, results illustrated that component of general merits was mostly attended among all components of cultural agility. However, intercultural experiences in national and supporting documents are less taken into account
