It is assumed that von Zeipel surfaces would play an important role in determining the structure
and stability properties of equilibrium configuration of a barotropic fluid. The present study
has investigated von Zeipel surfaces and instability of an accretion disc in modified gravity.
The findings show that in the framework of modified gravity, the rate of mass accretion in an
accretion disc is larger in the inner edge, middle region and the outer edge of the accretion
disc much in the same way. However, in the scale of Solar system, von Zeipel surfaces with
modified gravity are similar to the standard case.
