A three-component reaction promoted by Amberlyst-15 of an amine, an aldehyde, and trimethyl phosphite (Kabachnik– Fields reaction) in one pot under mild conditions affords the corresponding a-aminophosphonate in high yield after a short reaction time at ambient temperature.
