We consider the modified Gauss-Bonnet gravity and reconstruct this theory from some dark energy scenarios such as the polytropic, generalized Chaplygin and modified Chaplygin gas models. We perform a numerical analysis with the best fit values from the observational data for the model parameters space and find that the reconstructed models lead to an effective quintessence acceleration phase. Furthermore, we investigate the stability of the calculated models through the squared speed of sound parameter.
