In this work, effect of different types of surfactants on hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) onto copper nanoparticles modified carbon paste electrode (nano-Cu/CPE) was studied. In this way, SDS, CTAB, and TX-100 were used as anionic, cationic and non-ionic surfactants, respectively. Among these surfactants, SDS had the best efficiency with the lowest over-potential for hydrogen evolution in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution.
