Abstract

A forced resonance muonic-deuterium-tritium molecule formation is produced in multilayer solid hydrogen isotopes by using the Ramsauer-Townsend effect. For the proposed multi-layer system, the coupled linear point dynamical equations are solved by the MonteCarlo method using the Lsode computer code. The results obtained for the optimum layer thicknesses and tritium concentration are compared with the results of a solid homogeneous deuterium-tritium system with the same physical conditions (temperature, density, and tritium concentration). For the same physical conditions, the muon cycling coefficient of the two isotopes of deuterium-tritium is only 2.5% of the muon cycling coefficient of the proposed forced solid heterogeneous H/D/T fusion system. It is shown that with a very small tritium concentration (ct = 0.005), the obtained muon cycling rate and coefficient are 196 µs−1 and 186.
