Therefore, gemfibrozil is a medicine that helps prevent coronary heart disease. This medicine does not cure high blood cholesterol level, but only controls the condition. Reducing the intake of saturated fatty acids and cholesterol through food, doing enough exercise, losing weight until reaching the desired weight, and quitting smoking increase the effect of this medicine [11].
