Achieving economic growth and increasing living standards and public welfare has always been one of the goals pursued by various governments around the world. On the other hand, energy has always played an important role in human life and its use may have different effects on the economy, the environment and other areas of life. Therefore, in this study, we examine the relationship between energy intensity and economic growth in Iraq using time series data between 2000 and 2020 using Johansson-Josilius cointegration test. Results shows that increase in energy intensity will increase the economic growth.
