This article is devoted to the problem of lacunarity when translated into specific material of the Russian and Persian languages. The concept of lacunae is characterized as special markers of cultural national consciousness. A special place is given to lexical gaps in the process of translating artistic texts. We consider the filling and compensation as the main ways of eliminating lexical lacunae in artistic texts translated from Russian into Persian. The most frequent translation methods for the elimination of lexical lacunae are presented. When analyzing Russian works of art translated into Persian, we found that translators to solve the problem of lexical lacunarity, first of all, prefer to use descriptive translation, resort to transcription, transliteration, tracing with explanation and comment, and specification and generalization are used extremely rare.
