The article is devoted to the fundamental problems of teaching the articulation of Russian sounds of Persian-speaking students-philologists at elementary level. The similarities and differences in the articulatory bases of the Russian and Persian languages are considered. Main difficulties that Persian-speaking students face in studying Russian consonant and vowel phoneme system are distinguished. This paper presents a methodological proposal for promoting auditory-articulatory skills of Persian-speaking students of Russian language.
