This article deals with the difficulties encountered in learning the lexical system of the Russian language by the Persian-speaking students, which are inevitable as a result of the interaction of the two language systems. The violations, caused, in most cases, by the interfering influence of the Persian and Russian languages are presented. To the lexical violations in the speech of Persian-speaking students, we refer the use of the word in an unusual meaning; violation of the norms of lexical compatibility; mistakes in incorrect choice of words; violation of lexical norms; confusion of paronyms; mistakes in the use of homonyms; errors in the use of synonyms and some others. Interference at the lexical level can be caused by the fact that there can be no equivalents in the Russian and Persian languages or analogs at the lexical-semantic and structural levels.
