The epoxidation of a,b-unsaturated ketones to the corresponding epoxy ketones, using amberlyst A-26 supported hydroperoxide, which is prepared in situ from (35%) hydrogen peroxide and amberlyst A-26(OH), is described. Reactions were carried out at room temperature and the corresponding epoxides were isolated in excellent yields.
