Abstract

Abstract: In the current study, a simple, inexpensive and efficient in-situ strategy was used to modify the surface of a cellulose thin film substrate with highly efficient metal organic framework-5 (MOF-5) nano-sorbent. To is end, the modified cellulosic substrate was interacted with 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid and zinc nitrate. The resultant MOF-5 composite film, exhibited zeolitic-like frameworks with high specific surface areas. The composite materials were characterized by XRD, EDX, FTIR, SEM techniques and nitrogen adsorption analysis. Finally, the prepared MOF-5 film was used for thin film microextraction (TFME) of some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin, celecoxib, naproxen and tolmetin from biological samples such as urine. The extracted analytes were desorbed by an appropriate organic solvent and quantified by HPLC. Accordingly, the present method can be considered as a promising method for the fast trace analysis of a wide range of analytes from different complex matrices.
