The synthesis of a mononuclear copper(II) complexes of formula [LCuBr2] where L is a bidentate ligand of N-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)butan-2-amine is reported. The complex is fully characterized by physic chemical techniques. The structure of the complex is a distorted square-planar arrangement around copper(II) ion. The chromotropism behavior of the complex, including thermo-, solvato- and halochromism, was investigated.
