Background and Objectives: Murder is one of the most ancient and harshest crimes of human that lead to insecurity in the society. Prevention and control of murder is one of the main goals and duties of the governments that are usually considered on criminal policy. Many factors such as demographic characteristics, social, environmental and cognitive factors are effective on this Matter .The aim of this study is determine the murder frequency and motives and related factors in Fars province during April 2001 until the end of March 2011, based on the demographic data of victims.
