In this work, zinc oxide/graphene oxide (ZnO/GO) nanohybrids were successfully synthesized through simple chemical precipitation method. GO platelets were dispersed into suspension of ZnO nanoparticles (with average diameter of 50 nm) to prepare ZnO/GO nanohybrid. The influence of GO on structural, morphological and photocatalytic properties was investigated. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by FE-SEM, UV-vis analysis. The photocatalytic activities of ZnO and ZnO/GO nanohybrids were investigated by the degradation of Methylene blue (MB) dye in aqueous medium under natural sunlight irradiation. Results indicate that the addition of the ZnO nanoparticles to GO enhances the photocatalytic efficiency and ZnO/GO nanohybrid photocatalyst degrades MB dye with complete removal efficiency after about 25 min.
