چکیده

Hydrogen is characterized as an ideal energy carrier. The improvement of proper hydrogen evolution reaction HER) electrocatalyst is a significant issue in high-performance hydrogen production. In this study, the Cu-PtBTC nanocomposite derived-MOF directly (binder-free) fabricated on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) using an in-situ electrosynthesis method. Also, other modified GCE based on Cu and CuBTC MOF were electrosynthezied. After morphology characterizations of the various prepared modified GCE by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) ) and energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy, the electrocatalytic ability of each electrode in HER was investigated by various electrochemical methodes. Based on obtained observations, the Cu-PtBTC nanocomposite derived-MOF modified GCE has a significant electrocatalytic activity on the HER in H2SO4 aqueous solution. The HER has a low overpotential of 11 mV for delivering a current density of 10 mA cm-2, charge transfer resistance 110 Ω cm2 and Tafel slope 92 mVdec-1 with significant stability.
