The spirooxindole ring system is the core structure of many pharmacological agents and natural alkaloids [1]. Furthermore, the 4H-pyran derivatives are found to possess useful biological and pharmacological properties such as antitumor, antibacterial, antiviral, and diuretic activities [2]. Combination of these two scaffolds in one molecule could produce biological interesting series of compounds. Several synthetic spiroheterocyclic compounds, containing both indole and pyran moieties possess anticonvulsant, analgesic, herbicidal, and antimicrobial activities [3].
