Abstract

Enzyme as an important group of biocatalyst is superior over chemical catalyst because of its high effectiveness, high specificity and green reaction conditions. Graphen oxide (GO) is a one-atom-thick sheet generated from exfoliation of graphite oxide in polar solvents. Different compounds have been supported on GO nano sheets through covalent interactions and then it can be used as catalyst in various organic reactions [1]. Graphene oxide was synthesized using a modified Hummers, method. At the first step, functionalization of graphene oxide with APTES (GO-NH2) was accomplished through a hydrolysis-condensation sequence in sol-gel route by the organosilane. Prior to functionalization process, GO was exfoliated to nano sheets by ultrasonication. Then, activated glutaraldehyde was added to GO-NH2. Finally, an aliquot of lipase (lipase from Asperjillus Niger) solution (0.1 M phosphate buffer, PH 7.0) was mixed with the above activated carriers[2]. Then, successfully functionalized graphene oxide was verified by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), IR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA). This functionalized graphene oxide can be used as nano biocatalyst in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds.
