In this research, copper(II) complex with N,N-bis[1(2)H-tetrazol-5-yl]amine ligand (H₂BTA) was prepared on thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate and was detected used by different methods such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and then its catalytic effect was investigated by using thermal gravimetric (TG-DSC). Specifically, a coordination polymer with a tetrazole containing ligand such as [Cu(BTA)(NH₃)₂] was synthesized as a catalyst for the first time to investigate the thermal decomposition of AP. Investigating the effect of this catalyst on thermal decomposition temperature of ammonium perchlorate with different ratios of 97%, 96%, 93% AP shows that the catalyst has a good catalytic duty in the process of reducing the decomposition temperature and increasing the released energy of ammonium perchlorate.
