Abstract

In this study, polymer concrete was made using epoxy resin, and the following results were obtained by performing bending and compressive strength tests, chemical stability in acidic and alkaline environments, capillary and volume absorption, and shrinkage. Due to the viscoelastic structure of epoxy resin, the flexural strength and the ratio of flexural to compressive strength of polymer concrete has ncreased significantly compared to concrete made with Portland cement The chemical stability of polymer concrete against the chemical attack of sulfate and hydroxide ions was investigated by calculating the change in weight and the bending and compressive strengths of the samples in a period of 90 days. According to the molecular structure of polymer concrete, its stability in alkaline environments is higher than in acidig environments; Of course, the stability of this type of concrete is much higher compared to normal concrete in chemical environments
